Here you can find projects I have worked on with a brief description. Follow the links to more details about each one.
Accounting reconcilliation project for Uber
2023
As a Data Analyst at NECTO Systems, I played a key role in a project focused on addressing
accounting reconciliation challenges for our client, Uber. I developed a customized
data engineering solution, leveraging tools such as SQL, Python, Pandas, Hive, and
Presto to create an automated pipeline for data retrieval and reconciliation. This
project successfully reconciled financial reports for two of the Uber’s business
lines, ensuring compliance with global standards and significantly improving the
efficiency and reliability of their accounting and tax processes.
Enhancing Online Education - Data Science Instructor
2023 - Present
Working with one of the largest online education providers in Brazil, with over 80,000
students trained in their courses, the challenge was to develop video and
written materials for Python and Data Science courses to ensure a high-quality
learning experience.
Optimizing marketing campaigns with data
2025
Marketing campaigns play a crucial role in business growth, but their success depends
on targeting the right customers. In this project, I analyzed a real-world case where
a retail food company launched a direct marketing campaign that resulted in a low
response rate and financial loss.
Understanding logistic regression coefficients
2025
Logistic regression is a widely used classification algorithm that provides interpretable
results. In this article, we delve into the coefficients generated by logistic regression
models and their significance. We explore how these coefficients are calculated, their
relationship with the odds ratio, and how they can be interpreted to understand the
impact of features on the predicted outcome.
Metrics for Binary Classification with Imbalanced Datasets
2022
Imbalanced datasets are common in real-world scenarios, and they pose a challenge for
machine learning models. In this article, we explore the metrics used to evaluate binary
classification models in the context of imbalanced datasets. We discuss the confusion
matrix, accuracy, precision, recall, F-measure, AUROC, and AUPRC, providing a
comprehensive overview of the metrics and their implications for model evaluation.
Content writer for Necto Systems
2023
As a Content Writer for Necto Systems, I have enriched our website with engaging
articles, covering areas such as data analysis, Business Intelligence, and custom
software development. My contributions offer insights into our successful cases,
highlighting how we leverage data and technology to drive business growth and
efficiency. This diverse content reflects both my writing versatility and our
company’s expertise in the tech sector.
Customer churn prediction
June 2022
Churn is a measure of how many customers stop using a service or product,
often evaluated for a specific period of time. In this study, a churn level
prediction process is carried out using machine learning. A dataset with over
7000 customers of a telecom company is used. An action plan for the company is
designed based on the results.
Credit card fraud detection
January 2022
In this work, we will use a credit card transactions database to study
different algorithms, which can be used to classify a given transaction
as fraudulent or not. We will see how to deal with unbalanced databases
in Scikit Learn.
Global overview of COVID-19 - The omicron spread
May 2022
It has been 2 years since the emergence of the COVID-19 virus.
The pandemic control measures adopted by governments around the world have
significantly affected everyone’s routine. Now, most governments are
relaxing COVID restrictions despite high omicron variant spread. What can
we learn from COVID data?
Educational software development
2015 - 2022
I’m the researcher responsible for a development group of interactive
educational software, based on the Python programming language and the Jupyter
Notebook tool.
Science communication at Ciência Programada
2020 - present
This is a personal project of a scientific communication platform, focused on
usage and development of technological tools. I show how we can use Python and
software for a better understanding of scientific concepts and daily
situations. I also cover Data Science topics and coding best practices.
Math projects
2019 - present
I’m a chemist and, besides test tubes and colorful compounds, I also really
love math. So, here are some math related projects, like truth-table
generators and visualizations for abstract mathematical concepts.
Statistical analysis of student grades with Python
2019
Use of Python and Pandas package to evaluate the students’ performance in a
Chemistry Olympiad at an educational institution.
Global overview of COVID-19
October 2021
It has been almost 2 years since the emergence of the COVID-19 virus.
The pandemic control measures adopted by governments around the world have
significantly affected everyone’s routine. With that in mind, it is of great
interest to follow and evaluate the evolution of the pandemic to know its real
effects and to consider the return to normal life.
Laboratory manager
2014 - 2015
Manager of Central Analytical Facility at the Chemistry Institute at UFF.
I worked in the automation of the analyses scheduling process using Google
Suite. I have also implemented the standardization and process workflow
for access and training on each laboratory and all equipment of the Facility.
Environmental analyst at INEA
2014
Environmental Analyst at GEAG (acronym for Management of Water Quality
Assessment in Portuguese). I worked in the automation of reports and forms
using Excel spreadsheets, besides collaborated with implementation of ISO/IEC
17025 in Environmental Analysis Laboratory.
Synthesis and characterization of anticancer compounds
2008 - 2013
Project developed during my bachelor’s and master’s degree programs. During
the development I acquired a vast knowledge in experimental data analysis
using Excel and Origin, besides a great experience in synthesis techniques and
characterization of organic and inorganic compounds. As a result, 4 papers
were published in scientific journals and I received the Laureate Academic
Award of my university.
